2025 Litters

HOF CH Tomoka x CH Little Hawk

The record of HOF CH Tomoka speaks for itself. He was one of the greatest of the Smith Setter Champions and an important producer and cornerstone of the modern American Field Bred Setter. We are absolutely humbled at the opportunity to utilize his very last straw of frozen semen for this breeding to our own wild bird CH Little Hawk.

CH Little Hawk bested a field of 43 competitors to win the 2024 NBHA Sharptail Championship in hot, grueling conditions. She ran a big forward race and pointed Sharptail twice under judgement and once just after time was called far to the front. Her bird finding ability, intelligence, temperament, athleticism and style and conformation are as good as we have seen in any bird dog.

In this litter 5 of the 6 dogs in the first 2 generations are wild bird Champions and 2 of them are in the Hall of Fame. This is exceedingly rare, you simply won’t find another Setter litter like this. Thanks to Dave Phillips and to all those that came before to make this breeding possible.

All pups will be kept for evaluation

CH Houston’s Blackjack x Kasida

Kasida is pictured here after winning the 45 dog John Hadaway Shooting Dog Classic at Gladwin, MI in the spring of 2023. She’s enjoyed a number of Shooting Dog wins throughout her field trial career and is as good a wild bird dog on our guiding string as we have ever had. She’s the “Captain” of the team, routinely racking up the highest covey counts in south Texas. She’s about 38 pounds of bird finding determination and her pups from two previous litters - including one field trial winner - have taken on many of her strong qualities.

CH Houston’s Blackjack was the 2012 National Amateur Prairie Chicken Champion. He came from a litter produced by Dr. Paul Hauge and Jerry Kolter. Kasida’s grand sire, CH Ridge Creek Cody, also came from that same litter. We are concentrating some of the good blood from the important cross CH Can’t Go Wrong x CH Houston’s Belle. Jack was a powerful running bird finder. Thank you to Dr. Hauge and Jerry and to Dr. Sophia King!

All pups are reserved.
